Sigmund Freud

24 February 1935
Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19

Dear Jones,

From afar it seems to me too that your election to honorary membership of the British Psychological Society is a good sign. I just read that you are to give a lecture there in March.1

The prospect of your visit to Vienna at Easter makes me feel glad, as well as wistful. As a result of the restrictions of old age I know that I will be able to meet my obligations as host only very inadequately. Our Wolf, too, who once behaved in such an unfriendly manner towards you, is now an old gentleman and as old as I am in his canine context, i.e., over eleven years old.

I can only approve your decision in the matter of Eduardo Weiss. He is, incidentally, a particularly good fellow and I should like to accommodate him as much as possible.

With cordial greetings. Auf Wiedersehen.

Yours,

Freud
