On Borrowed Time

Rachael Gasson

A personal memoir in which the author describes her experiences of dissociation and in particular the relationship to time and its distortion and fragmentation in response to trauma. This poignant account reflects upon the struggles of a parent with dissociation and how she finds a part of herself to care effectively and lovingly for her children providing them with something she herself never had. In the process there is the touching recognition of the care she now needs from the attachment relationship with her therapist.
