Follow-Up Note on a Patient who Experienced Hypomania Following a Dream

Irving Burt Harrison, M.D.

SUMMARY

A woman who completed analysis several years ago, some details of which were presented in this Journal, returned recently for a

single visit to discuss how to cope with a problem of one of her daughters. In the course of the visit, she revealed her own explanation of a "cure" of residual symptoms of her frigidity, which she had effected shortly after termination, by the use of a single tranquilizer capsule, which had in fact been offered to her husband, facetiously, by a friend, as a cure for impotence. This "cure" is discussed as confirmation of the thesis of the original presentation.
