Obituary

G.G. Bunzl

Anna Freud

The death of Mr G.G. Bunzl marks another sad event in the history of our Hampstead Clinic. We have lost with him not only our Honorary Treasurer, but also a devoted friend, an indefatigable raiser of funds for our endeavours and a generous contributor, especially to our Training Fund.

Since he worked quietly in the background, he remained unknown as a person to most of our staff members, and even his private donations could only be found in our accounts under ‘Anonymous’. It was only the directors who enjoyed his living presence, followed his advice in all financial matters, and felt reassured and supported by his wise guidance.

There are not many men like G.G. Bunzl in the business world who find relaxation from the strenuous efforts on behalf of their own endeavours in equally hard work for others. Also, we are not the only charitable institution who will sorely miss him.
