Preamble

I approach this commentary with mixed emotions. I am mindful of the handicap of being detached from the experience itself, yet energised by the challenge this presents. Remote commentary is not a recognisable gestalt exercise.

In the following account I will attempt to share the immediate impressions and questions which arise as I first read the session in detail; second, I will step back to overview the group as a whole and to share the theoretical perspective I apply to group therapy.
