Ten members of the staff of the Women's Therapy Centre in London have contributed to the book entitled Psychotherapy with Women: Feminist Perspectives. It is a welcome contribution to the vast literature concerning the analysis of women which has arisen in the past few years. In this volume the contributors concentrate on the problems that may arise between the two women engaged in the therapeutic process, the analyst and the patient. Both women share the same gender identity and equally experience the same problems of separation and individuation from their own mothers who, in their turn, may have experienced the same problems with their own mothers. So that therapy may often become a three-generation process. The numerous problems that may arise in the course of therapy are discussed, such as problems of race in contemporary society, problems of women's relationships to their own bodies and those of their mothers.
