Mary T. Brady, Ph.D., an adult and child psychoanalyst, is on the faculty of SFCP. Her books, Analytic Engagements with Adolescents: Sex, Gender and Subversion and The Body in Adolescence: Psychic Isolation and Physical Symptoms, were published by Routledge in 2018 and 2016 respectively. Dr. Brady is in private practice in San Francisco.
Giuseppe Civitarese, M.D., Ph.D., is a training and supervising analyst, Italian Psychoanalytic Society (SPI), and past-Editor of Rivista di Psicoanalisi. Dr. Civitarese has published several books, including The Necessary Dream: New Theories and Techniques of Interpretation in Psychoanalysis; The Analytic Field and Its Transformations (with A. Ferro); Truth and the Unconscious; and Sublime Subjects: Aesthetic Experience and Intersubjectivity in Psychoanalysis. He has also co-edited The W.R. Bion Tradition: Lines of Development and Bion and Contemporary Psychoanalysis: Reading A Memoir of the Future. Dr. Civitarese is in private practice in Pavia, Italy.
Eric Essman, M.A., is on the Board of Directors of PINC, where he co-chairs the Visiting Scholar Committee. He is a frequent contributor of book and film reviews to fort da.
Shlomit Gorin, M.A., is a psychotherapist who sees children, adolescents, and adults in San Francisco. Prior to joining the mental health field, she studied Comparative Literature and Russian Literature.
Forrest Hamer, Ph.D., is an Oakland psychologist and psychoanalyst who teaches at SFCP. He is also the author of three poetry collections: Call and Response (Beatrice Hawley Award); Middle Ear (Northern California Book Award); and Rift.
Era A. Loewenstein, Ph.D., is an adult, adolescent, and child psychologist and psychoanalyst. A training and supervising analyst at SFCP, Dr. Loewenstein is a past president of NCSPP and was an associate board member of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis.
