We are pleased to have a piece on India, one of the fastest developing democracies in the world, a section of whose massive population has shown real benefit from the influx of money and business investment, yet many of whose social and religious customs are very much undemocratized. Rakesh brings these, at times bizarre, contrasts to light, with commentary on how the general law adapts and at times offers psychological insights into these very long standing traditions.
