Review by:
James Glover

'This book, ' says its author, 'is the result of nine years' intensive study of the theory and practice of psycho-analysis, ' and it is intended to improve on previous expositions, by paying attention to the causes of divergence between Freud and Jung. We cannot help thinking that if he had paid sufficient attention to these causes, he would never have written it. He does not tell us whether he spent a similar period on the intensive study of Jung's theory and practice, and we are left with the supposition, which is supported by internal evidence, that he has merely been attempting to combine the two methods.
