The Bureau of the 17th International Psycho-analytical Congress has been opened at Amsterdam-Z., J. W. Browersplein 21 (Cables: Psychanco, Amsterdam).

The Dutch Committee on Arrangements faces the difficult task of organizing the Congress at the height of the European travel season and it requests all those who have not yet sent in their forms to do so immediately.

The International Congress for Psychotherapeutics will be held at Leiden-Oegstgeest (Holland) from September 5th—8th. The subject to be discussed will be: The Affective Contact. Two members of the Dutch Psycho-Analytic Society, Drs. P. J. van der Leeuw and H. G. van der Waals are members of the Congress Committee. Correspondence should be addressed to: The Dutch Society for Psychotherapeutics, Psychiatric Clinic of the State University, Leiden, Holland.

Training in Psycho-analytic Medicine is now being carried out at the College of Medicine at New York City of the State University of New York. Dr. Howard W. Potter, Professor of Psychiatry and Executive Officer of the Department of Psychiatry, has set up within the Department a Division of Psychoanalytic Medicine. Dr. Sándor Lorand has been appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of this division.
