Rorschach Location and Scoring Manual: By Leonard Small. (New York and London: Grune and Stratton, 1956. Pp. 214.)

Review by:
Joseph Sandler

This is a well-prepared and comprehensive manual which covers the commoner Rorschach responses. It is really a mechanical aid to Rorschach scoring, even though the authors stress that it should not be used as such. It is conveniently thumb-indexed, and if one uses Rorschach's test in the conventional way, should be a great asset. Like all mechanical aids, however, its use may detract from the more spontaneous psycho-analytic assessment or Rorschach responses. For those who work with Rorschach, and find scoring manuals useful, this book should have a great appeal. It is certainly beautifully prepared and generously laid out.
