Dear Sir, Kenneth Gaarder, in his paper, 'The Internalized Representation of the Object in the Presence and in the Absence of the Object' (Int.J.Psycho-Anal., 46, 297), incorrectly describes a scene from our film, 'Monica, an Infant with Gastric Fistula and Depression'. He states

Motion pictures of her taken in the doctor's absence show her—for many reasons which need not be gone into here—as apathetic, listless, and withdrawn.
