Tip: To use Evernote for note taking…

PEP-Web Tip of the Day

Evernote is a general note taking application that integrates with your browser. You can use it to save entire articles, bookmark articles, take notes, and more. It comes in both a free version which has limited synchronization capabilities, and also a subscription version, which raises that limit. You can download Evernote for your computer here. It can be used online, and there’s an app for it as well.

Some of the things you can do with Evernote:

  • Save search-result lists
  • Save complete articles
  • Save bookmarks to articles

The Schlegel-Tieck Prize

James Strachey has been awarded the 1966 Schlegel-Tieck Prize for his translation of the works of Sigmund Freud. The award has been made for Volume 1 of The Standard Edition of The Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud which (with the exception of the Index volume) completes the set of 24 volumes, the first of which appeared in 1953.

The prize of £300, plus a week's visit to the Federal Republic of Germany at the expense of the Germany Embassy, is awarded annually for the best translation of works published in the German Federal Republic during the twentieth century.

A panel of three judges decides the award, this year composed of Eric Mosbacher, Christoper Holme, and Norman Denny. The presentation is made later in the year by the German ambassador at the German Embassy.
