The Symbolic Quest: By Edward C. Whitmont. London: Barrie & Rockliff. 1969. Pp. 336.

Dr Whitmont is a member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology and a practising Jungian analyst in New York City. In this book Dr Whitmont gives a clear and exhaustive account of the major concepts and theories of the Jungian approach to the human psyche and personality development. To analysts unfamiliar with the Jungian concepts this could be a very useful book, because each Jungian concept is taken separately and defined with clarity and precision and with apt, supportive clinical material.
