Three Previously-Untranslated Reviews by Freud from the Neue Freie Presse

Mark Solms

SUMMARY

Three short reviews by Freud (1904c, 1904d, 1905f) are presented in English translation. Two of the reviews, which are unusually harsh in their criticism, concern books on the subject of neurasthenia. The third relates to a controversial experiment on magnetism. The reviews were not included in the Standard Edition of Freud's psychological works, nor in any of the earlier collections of his writings.
