Tip: To use Evernote for note taking…

PEP-Web Tip of the Day

Evernote is a general note taking application that integrates with your browser. You can use it to save entire articles, bookmark articles, take notes, and more. It comes in both a free version which has limited synchronization capabilities, and also a subscription version, which raises that limit. You can download Evernote for your computer here. It can be used online, and there’s an app for it as well.

Some of the things you can do with Evernote:

  • Save search-result lists
  • Save complete articles
  • Save bookmarks to articles

Épître à l'objet [Epistle to the object]: Florence Guignard. Paris: Presses Universitaires de France. 1997. Pp. 173

Review by:
D. J. Arnoux

The sense of identity is a theme that pervades Florence Guignard's book like Ariadne's thread. The author takes a strictly Freudian view of sexuality and the drives. Following her previous book (Au vif de l'infantile. Lausanne: Delachaux et Niestlé, 1996), she now offers the reader a bold and stimulating metapsychological survey. The underlying inspiration of this interesting volume lies in the fundamental issues of the contemporary psychoanalytic debate.

For the author, the object is a ‘fleeting’—i.e. ‘polysemous’—concept.
