Response to Tamara Feldman Related Papers

Georges Abraham

Dear Sirs,

First of all, I would like to thank Dr Feldman for her appreciation of my paper on ‘The psychodynamics of orgasm’, and also for its ‘message’: to encourage further psychoanalytical research and reflections in this field. In a more specific and detailed aspect, I am grateful to Dr Feldman because she underlines what I consider as the main issue of the entire problem concerning orgasm. In other words. Dr Feldman points out that the female orgasm seems to be wholly erotic as opposed to the male orgasm, which is more linked to reproduction because of sperm ejaculation and the fact that someone (in this case my patient) remains orgastically responsive despite a profound conflict around the orgasm itself.
