Judith Mitrani

Dear Editors,

I'd like to thank Dr Vartzopoulos for the attention to and expressed appreciation of my paper. As I wrote in my paper, “… The constellation of conflicts, anxieties and defenses of an extremely primitive nature that I have highlighted in Cathy's case are frequently encountered in many of our adult analysands as well as in the adolescents we commonly see in analysis” (Mitrani, 2007, p. 1167). Thus, I hope it is clear that I agree wholeheartedly with Dr Vartzopoulos that the bodily centered protections addressed in my paper are ubiquitous in analysands of all ages and are not exclusive to adolescence. However, there are a few points of clarification I wish to make.
