Contributions of Psychoanalysis for Psychosocial Interventions in Armed Conflict Scenarios

Miguel Gutiérrez-Peláez

The following article proposes and discusses the possible contributions of psychoanalysis for psychosocial interventions in armed conflict scenarios, not only for psychoanalysts, but also for every professional in charge of carrying out this type of interventions. Initially, historical aspects are analysed that show the great interest of the first and second generation of psychoanalysts for psychosocial and political issues. Following, four main contributions of psychoanalysis for psychosocial interventions are analysed: 1) The no-standarization of trauma, 2) The ethical position of not knowing or not understanding, 3) The respect for the logical times and 4) The invitation to know about the not-known of oneself.
