In my article, I approach the future of psychoanalysis from a Lacanian perspective. However, the worries I articulate are shared or should be shared by all psychodynamic schools, thinkers and practitioners. Nothing less is at stake but the future of psychodynamic orientation in the world of evidence based medicine and handbook psychiatry. In the end, it is a question of the ethics of psychiatry and what it means to be a human being.
