Dear Frau Andreas
Very glad to have heard from you. Where had you disappeared to? Very interested to get some work from you again. Why have you suppressed or aborted your book on the Unconscious? You are so excessively modest as a writer.
We had intended to go to Bavaria in the summer with the children of our daughter who died, perhaps in the neighbourhood of Marcinowski127. But I don't know if it will be possible, for Bavaria does not admit foreigners.
According to what Hattingberg tells me, what you have heard about Seif appears to be true. The oaf has gone off on his own and has become a Seifian.
On 18 May my son Ernst marries Frl. Lucie Brasch in Berlin, from all accounts an excellent choice.
We find it impossible to feel any good cheer here now. The external circumstances are frightful. The Verlag is going strong, but inevitably has its troubles too. I hope you are au courant with all our recent publications. In Berlin our polyclinic is functioning and there are other possibilities there too.
Hoping to meet again before we have both become ‘age-old and shrunken’,
Yours most sincerely,

127 Dr. Johannes Marcinowski, 1868-1935, had been in charge of a convalescent home in Holstein and had then bought a farm in Bad Heilbrunn near Tölz and converted it into a sanatorium. His wife was a trained nurse. Doctor and patients shared the country life together.
