Letter to the Editor

Adam Limentani

Since the appearance of my paper on 'Transsexualism' (Int. Rev. Psycho-Anal.6, 139–153) a series of papers on the 'Transsexual Syndrome in Males' by Drs E. Person & L. Ovesey has been brought to my notice. Although my work was primarily concerned with the investigation of those aspects of transsexualism which run counter to well established and generally accepted psychoanalytic concepts, as they can be observed in both males and females, some of my conclusions with regard to the relationship of transsexualism to homosexuality and transvestism are very similar to those reached by Drs Person & Ovesey, working in the U.S.A. I am sure your readers will be glad to have the appropriate references to those papers, which have regretfully escaped my attention until recently.

Yours sincerely
