Dear Sir:

This letter is prompted by our disappointment in the recent review in your columns which, in our view, gave a completely inadequate picture of this new and important journal. Your reviewer criticized minor issues of presentation and even complained that the style varied from author to author, and here there may simply be a difference of opinion since we consider the journal to be attractive and easy to read and we value the diversity of styles which reflect the diversity of interests and attitudes among psychoanalytic psychotherapists. What is more important is the fact that the review barely mentioned the purpose or contents and this has led us to write in order to give your readers some idea of the editorial policy of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and briefly to describe what it contains.
