Hollitscher führt in sehr einleuchtender Weise aus, dass ein Analytiker, der sagt „ein Gedankengang sei rationalisiert“ damit in keiner Weise ein Urteil über die Richtigkeit oder Falschheit der betreffenden logischen Prozesse ausdrücken will; in andern Worten, dass „der Begriff Rationalisierung in die Psychologie des Denkens gehört, nicht in die Logik“, was oft von Kritikern der Psychoanalyse missverstanden werde.
