Our group was prompted by the arrival in Bangor of a number of students interested in neuro-psychoanalysis, in most cases working on Master's-level research projects with Dr. Turnbull at the University of Wales, Bangor. Group members were Zsofia Kovacs (Austria), Maria Mouratidou (Germany), Mona Tondowski (France), Oliver Turnbull (U.K.), and Vagelis Zois (Greece).

The group met regularly throughout late 2004 and early 2005, across 17 weeks of meetings. We worked our way though the principal chapters in Kaplan-Solms & Solms, Clinical Studies in Neuro-Psychoanalysis, and Solms & Turnbull, The Brain and the Inner World, reviewing the basic findings and discussing the implications for future research in the field. We also had a visit from Dr. Gerald Weist (Vienna).

Two of the group (Tondowski and Kovacs) have been engaged in a collaborative research project with Dr. Catherine Morin (Paris), which focuses on emotional experience in neurological patients with anosognosia.
