Joseph Lander

In autofellatio, it is as though the individual creates a unity in and of himself, achieving a high degree of self-sufficiency. He re-creates a situation that existed much earlier in life, before differentiation between self and nonself was possible. The penis symbolizes the breast, and the individual regresses to the state of an ever-available breast.
