THE AMERICAN PSYCHOANALYTIC ASSOCIATION has been given a grant of $113,000 from the United States Public Health Service, National Institute of Mental Health, to make a national survey of present facilities and methods for training psychoanalysts.

Dr. Bertram D. Lewin will direct the survey which will start in September 1956. Miss Helen Ross, executive director of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis, will be associate director.

The survey will include the fourteen psychoanalytic institutes and the three affiliated centers which are approved for the training of psychoanalysts by the American Psychoanalytic Association.
