Dr. Gerhart Piers will succeed as director of the CHICAGO INSTITUTE FOR PSYCHOANALYSIS when Dr. Franz Alexander leaves in the Fall of 1956 to become director of the new psychiatric clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

Dr. Piers, a native of Vienna, Austria, has been a member of the Institute since 1942, when he joined it as a research associate. He became a member of the staff in 1947.
