On Call for Youth. How to Understand and Help Young People: By Rudolph M. Wittenberg. New York: Association Press, 1955. 241 pp.

Review by:
G. F.

Although this book can offer little that is new to the psychoanalyst or psychiatrist, it is a sound and useful discussion for parents, teachers, and other lay persons of certain typical problems of adolescence. Principles consonant with psychoanalytic theory are stated in conversational and entirely nontechnical language. Adolescence is a confusing and misunderstood phenomenon and this guide to the handling of such problems as adolescent love, indifference, and feelings of inferiority is unpretentious but practical and valuable.
