British Journal of Medical Psychology. XXVIII, 1955: Aspects of Personality in Peptic Ulcer Patients. Louis Minski and Mahesh M. Desai. Pp. 113-134.

Twenty-five ulcer patients were studied to determine whether there is a 'peptic ulcer personality' and a typical conflict in such patients. The patients were compared with a group of patients with hysteria. The authors conclude that the ulcer patients showed a preponderance of obsessive compulsive traits but that 'neither the clinical assessments nor any of the tests classify the ulcer cases into one or two definite types of personality'.
