Volume X of The Annual Survey of Psychoanalysis, which was published in 1971, deals with the psychoanalytic literature that appeared in 1959. As with previous volumes in the series, this book provides carefully prepared abstracts, grouped under nine general headings, by a number of contributors who are identified under each citation in the bibliography at the back of the book. The general headings form the basis of nine chapters, each of which deals with a specific topic and incorporates into the discussion the abstracts of the relevant literature.
