James F. Bing

The author bases his thesis for the Wolf Man's pathology and particularly for his paranoid development and his narcissistic character structure on the following: "the introjective configuration forms the critical core of internalizations around which the self-system is organized and in terms of which the sense of self takes shape." Thus the basis of the author's understanding of the Wolf Man and his pathological processes is on Kleinian and Kohutian theories combined with some of the author's own ideas in connection with introjections and projections. He contributes some fascinating ideas to the further understanding of the Wolf Man, but at the same time, in this abstractor's opinion, it is a one-sided picture.
