The Annual of Psychoanalysis. V, 1977: Developmental Psychology and Explanatory Theory in Psychoanalysis. Michael Franz Basch. Pp. 229-263.

James F. Bing

The author's main thesis is that there is no one psychology that can explain all human behavior, and it is necessary for us to seek help in other areas. In this article he focuses on Piaget and describes some interesting contributions to Freudian theory from the Piagetan development model. However, in some parts of the article Basch seems to be confusing Piaget's developmental model with Freud's model; the latter is more inclusive by pertaining to all levels of development.
