In a paper which is highly condensed and devoid of clinical examples, this seasoned clinician and theoretician summarizes some of his own thoughts about adolescent development and analysis, particularly those which are somewhat divergent from the mainstream of psychoanalytic theory. Mainly, he stresses that the resolution of the "negative oedipal complex" is a crucial task of adolescence, and he offers much detailed exploration of his thought.
