This ambitious project, under the auspices of the American Psychoanalytic Association, does itself a disservice by describing itself as a “4th edition” of the title. In fact, the Moore and Fine book, published in 1990, is entitled, Psychoanalysis: The Major Concepts, which itself is the heir to A Glossary of Psychoanalytic Terms and Concepts, from 1967, revised in 1968.
