Tip: To use Evernote for note taking…

PEP-Web Tip of the Day

Evernote is a general note taking application that integrates with your browser. You can use it to save entire articles, bookmark articles, take notes, and more. It comes in both a free version which has limited synchronization capabilities, and also a subscription version, which raises that limit. You can download Evernote for your computer here. It can be used online, and there’s an app for it as well.

Some of the things you can do with Evernote:

  • Save search-result lists
  • Save complete articles
  • Save bookmarks to articles

Jail Dance

Darcy Dean Minsky, LCSW, M.S.

She waits in the waiting room, seven years old

Brown hair flowing

Saucer frightened eyes

Against a porcelain still face.

She smiles when she sees me

Bares her teeth, hisses

Fingers stretched into tiger claws.

The door slams in front of me. Locks.

I wait.

No response.

The key opens into her world.

The red marker leaves streaks on the white wall.

The wipe leaves red ghost marks behind.

I lurch for the clock, the blinds.

I dodge the paperweight, the book.

My shin burns from the toe of her shoe.

She wishes my blood were on the floor

That I were dead

She hugs me

She is angry that there are only seven minutes left.
