Letters to the Editors

Knuth Mueller, Dipl-Psych, Dipl-Paed, C.S.W., ZKS

To the Editors,

A few days ago, the Psychoanalytic Perspectives special Ferenczi issue arrived. What a rich and beautiful volume!

While I haven't had time to read all of the articles just yet, the first that caught my attention was [Carlo] Bonomi's on Ferenczi and ego-psychology. I really enjoyed it because it helped me to better understand the similarities and dissimilarities of Ferenczi vs. Hartman et al. In German, “hart” means grim, hard, tough, which I really like in terms of its double meaning. So if I am talking about the Hartman Era, I always have both the analyst Hartman as well as what I interpret as the toughness and rigidity of his technique in mind.

Thank you again for this important issue, and I look forward to future issues of the journal.
