This little book is a popular exposition “written in the hope that it will enable the modern reader to see through the eyes of the modern psychologists, ***” and dedicated to “the Man in the Street and his worthy feminine counterpart.” The foreword discloses that the title of the book is that of a series of articles current in the Buffalo Evening News during the last four years. This fact is not to be construed as an adverse criticism. The teachings of psychology can be of little help to those from whom it is held aloof. In the introduction “To the Reader” the author emphasizes the emotions and the unity of the organism.
