Transference and Trial Adaptation
Joost A. M. Meerloo, M.D. and Marie Coleman Nelson, M.D.
The collaboration of this author team beban in 1951 when they published the nuclear beginning of the present study…an article entitled The Transference Function.
Subsequent studies by the authors of paradigmatic techniques in psychotherapy, problems of ambivalence, and modes of trial-adaptation broadened their scope and led to renewed collaboration in the present work.
Both authors serve on the staff of The Psychoanalytic Review… Doctor Meerloo as a member of the Board of Consultants and Mrs. Nelson as Managing Editor. Transference and Trial Adaptation may be said to epitomize the aspirations of the Review in its thoughtful and integrated approach to the clinical, social, and cultural influences that condition and direct man's fate.
