(From Addiction to Attachment: Attachment as the Foundation of Becoming Human)

Being human is born with a great inability to assume one's life alone. It depends on a massive and prolonged support of the mother. With physical and psychological development, he becomes autonomous, that is to say, capable of answering alone his needs. He goes from a state of dependence to a state of attachment. Bowlby has developed a theory of attachment that is always very useful for reflecting on human relationships of all ages.
