En una alocución en la Asociación Psicoanalítica Inglesa, el autor expone cómo Freud era tolerante y nada dogmático. Luego se ocupa de las enseñanzas de Melanie Klein y discípulos, a las que niega veracidad y considera negativas en relación con el progreso del psicoanálisis. Finalmente las critica con las palabras que Freud empleó para atacar las enseñanzas de Jung, hace treinta años.
