En la introducción los autores dicen que su estudio está basado sobre datos tomados de historiales de “child guidance clinicas de Los Ángeles y Philadelphia; éstas se ocupaban en principio con aspectos prácticos de diagnóstico y tratamiento de niños que presentaban problemas de la personalidad y conducta”.

Parece extraña la división de “problemas de conducta y problemas de la personalidad” siendo una el resultado de la otra. Los aspectos manifiestos no están diferenciados de los fundamentales. No hay ninguna mención del psicoanálisis.
