El temor a la muerte, núcleo y cifra de la angustia

El miedo a la muerte es, sin lugar a dudas, la angustia fundamental del hombre.

Todas las demás formas de ansiedad son, en relación con ella, secundarias: no sólo en importancia sino también en el orden cronológico de su aparición. Los temores que, a través de las múltiples y cambiantes situaciones de peligro, persiguen o agobian al ser humano no son sino metamorfosis de la gran ansiedad fundamental: el miedo a la muerte.
