El autor revisa las opiniones sobre los psicodinamismos del “dejá vu”, sustentadas por Freud, Fenichel y Marcowitz. Los puntos esenciales son los siguientes: para Freud, un episodio de “dejá vu” implica una percepción inconsciente previa que penetra a la conciencia como resultado de una impresión similar actual; el “dejá vu” es una contraparte de la despersonalización y desrealización, con un intento de aceptar algo como perteneciente al yo, en lugar de excluirlo.
