Foreword

In this panel meeting we try to examine and discuss those frequent situations in analytical work in which the patient agrees to analyse the consequences that situations of infantile rejection have had on the organisation of his self. The expression and manifestations of the traumatised self are differentiated from those which are the consequence of defences and drives independently organised an in unconscious phantasy.

The topic the group intends to discuss is, most of all the ways in which it is possible to operate a transformation in the adult from an unsatisfactorily organised self into an integrated self, from a feeling of rejection to one of acceptance.
