(2011). Romanian Journal of Psychoanalysis, 4(2):7-9
Matei Georgescu and Corneliu Irimia
18 years have passed since the issue of the first publication of the Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis, called Psychoanalysis Bulletin. If the princeps vocation of a publication is to reflect the group that initiated it, then the shift from its compact form of “bulletin” to the current one of “journal” implicitly takes us back to the historic years of Romania's psychoanalysis “coming of age”.
Aside from the years passing, an excellent persistence element of the publishing effort has been the international opening which led to including in the journal pages authors of great importance in the psychoanalysis university and/or clinical field of study, such as Jacques André, Cléopâtre Athanassiou-Popesco, Catherine Chabert, Annaik Feve, Horst Kächele, Giampaolo Kluzer, François Ladame, Didier Lauru, François Marty, Vladimir Marinov, Denis Mellier, Fausto Petrella, Salomon Resnik, Maria Rhode, Michel Vincent, Luis Rodrigues de la Sierra and so on.
All this time, the cardinal point that led to changing the publication's format has been the 2008 International Colloquium of Psychoanalysis called “Thinking hate and violence”. Undoubtedly, the Romanian psychoanalysis group thus began a new sequence of its history which needed to be considered differently. There was a series of worldwide psychoanalysis prestigious figures honoring the Cotroceni event that decisively contributed to it. The first “journal”, issued by means of the joint effort of thinking, this time, hate and violence, has impressed with both quality and volume.
