Tip: To sort articles by Rankā€¦

PEP-Web Tip of the Day

You can specify Rank as the sort order when searching (it’s the default) which will put the articles which best matched your search on the top, and the complete results in descending relevance to your search. This feature is useful for finding the most important articles on a specific topic.

You can also change the sort order of results by selecting rank at the top of the search results pane after you perform a search. Note that rank order after a search only ranks up to 1000 maximum results that were returned; specifying rank in the search dialog ranks all possibilities before choosing the final 1000 (or less) to return.

[SEC157a14]This paper, as explained above on p. 142, was sent off by Freud on the same day (February 5, 1896) as the French paper on ‘Heredity and the Aetiology of the Neuroses’ but was published some six weeks after it. When this paper came to be included in the Gesammelte Schriften, in 1925, Freud added two or three footnotes. He had previously made a substantial addition to a footnote in the English translation of 1924 (pp. 180-1 below); but this was not included in any German edition.

[SEC157a15]This second paper on the ‘neuro-psychoses of defence’ takes up the discussion at the point it had reached in the first paper (1894a) produced two years earlier.
