During the period September 1977 – June 1978 the Society has held 13 regular meetings for members and candidates and one meeting for members only. At this last mentioned occasion the problem of narcissism – that of the analyst – and narcissism in a wider perspective was elaborated, basing the discussion upon a report form the EPF-meeting in Estoril, February 1978.

Two candidates have presented their qualifying papers and have been elected associate members of the Society. One associate member has been elected full member. There are now 32 members, 47 candidates and 2 former candidates with the newly created guest status. There are two corresponding members.

Amid the varied program of meetings one could mention a discussion on the psychoanalytical formal curriculum where three candidates introduced their points of view. Another meeting was dedicated to the internal and external problems of psychoanalysis in Norway.

We have had the pleasure of welcoming distinguished colleagues from abroad as seminar leaders and lecturers. Dr. A. Szalita, U.S.A., in September 1977 and dr. A. Limentani, England, in May 1978 held seminars for the training analysts on supervision and on selection of candidates for training respectively.
