Thoralv Scheie Nødland

In 1987, the Norwegian Psychoanalytic Institute moved into new premises with ample room for the library, the office secretary, a large room for seminars and meetings as well as consulting rooms for practicing psycho-analysts. Last year, the book-shelves and the furniture were installed and the administrative procedures were radically updated by providing computer equipment for the library, accountancy and office work. We hope the new facilities will contribute to the professional development within the Society.

In 1988 the Society had 32 members, 11 associate members and 48 candidates.

The scientific program was as follows:

10 January: Erik Helmers/P. A. Holter: A proposal for a re-organisation of the Society and the Institute. Introductory remarks for discussion.
9 February: Solfrid Kjus: The reparation of a split-off mother image.
1 March: Annual General Meeting.
22 March: Steinar Lorentzen: Parsimony as a phenomenon and a therapeutic problem in the analysis of a man with an anal character formation.
19 April: Alberta Szalita talks about her experiences from her training and practice as a psychoanalyst.
24 May: Knut Vaksdal: Mundus Imaginalis. Some thoughts about the connection between imagination, the psychoanalytic process and personal development.
14 June: Joh. Fr. Thaulow: Who was Trygove Bråtøy?—Trygve Bråtøy, his development as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst.
20 September: Karin Solheim: The psychoanalytic setting—the physical realities.
4 October: Olav K. Brodwall: Socialogical conditions for man's self-experience.
8 November: Kristin Hauge Holter: Frequency and distribution of the psychoanalytic sessions.
29 November: Anders Zachrisson: Separation-anxiety and aggression in a patient with a psychoneurotic character.
13 December: Finn Hansen: A journey through 34 years of psychoanalytic education and practice.
17 November: The Institute arranged a workshop on psychoanalytic research with Professor Bengt-Åke Armelius.
