The Activities in the Scandinavian Societies 1989

Henning Paikin

At the Business Meeting in September 1988, we made some changes in our bylaws, which included, amongst other things, that the Business meeting should be held in January, and that the fiscal year should follow the calendar year. However, no Business Meeting was held in January 1989.

The scientific programme has been as follows:

26 January: Merete Katznelson and Ulf Ståhlberg: Impressions from the Weekend Conferences in London, October 1988.
2 March: Bjorn Killingmo (Oslo): Conflict and Deficit: Implications for Technique.
7 April: Working through. Discussion of the EPF Congress in Heidelberg by the participants at the Congress.
27 April: Stefan Balint: Termination.
25 Maj: Alex Holder (Hamburg): Thoughts on Reality, Fantasy and Abstinence.
28 September: Henning Paikin: A European Definition of Psycho-Analysis.
19 October: Peter Giovacchini (USA): Borderline States.
23 October: Robert Wallerstein (USA): The Future of Psychoanalysis.
23 November: Lennart Wiberg: From Boy to Man, From Mother to Woman Some Reflections on the Development of Masculinity.
1 December: Carl-Erik Brattemo (Uppsala): Whispering and Cries. Some Reflections on Ingmar Bergman's Film—the Collapse of Language—the Psycho-Analytic Task. Prior to the lecture, Ingmar Bergman's film was shown.
